November 2010Ashley
Kommer and Lauren Colodny came to visit and ride over Thanks Giving
weekend. They were students when Horse Heaven first opened in
Bridgeville. They have since graduated college and moved to different
parts taking on their adult lives. They continue to be good friends and
usually visit me every year at the holidays. They are truly special and
always make me happy to see them. In my wildest dreams all my past
students would come back for a visit.
Lauren came this summer in between her new job and volunteered her services to the stable.

I hope you all enjoyed your clinic yesterday. I wanted to apologize for hurrying through lunch as we had to get Amy on her way for an evening engagement. Thanks as always for your patience with our scheduling.
I wanted share a few things that I was reminded of. Also, those things are rarely new to us, we've all been reminded over and over.
"Hips/Seat"
The center of our body. Our connection to the horse. Obviously got to work on this more, had a couple good moments on Sly that I was actually in the correct position. It's works!
"Legs"
Communication with the horse, clearly & quickly, they don't nag.
Our"Dance Partner"
"Hands/Elbows"
Complete the circle of connection.
Basics, it's all basics! Plan your ride and work on individual parts. Be a partner and help your horse be correct.
Horse on Course Hunter Show
October 9, 2010
We had two horses and three riders represent Horse Heaven in Saxenburg at one of their last schooling shows for the season. Megan & Hayley both shared Irish and Ginger took her horse Louie. They did a marvelous job for getting started showing later in the season. Most of their competition had been looking at the jumps all summer. Irish brought home two Reserve Champions for each and Louie finished with only a few ribbons, but having completed the entire course. Bravo for Ginger and him as two weeks ago Louie was still not convinced he could still jump. He has come such a long way in the last year. A real life Black Beauty!
Here's Louie when he came to Horse Heaven.
3 - 4 hundred pounds underweight!

Horse Heaven Stable Bomb Fire
3:00 pm until ??
Well, I think everyone had a great time at the Bomb Fire. The horse show at
Fallowfield got canceled, so we started the day with Games on Horseback and everyone got ribbons for their fun. The best part was we had so many horses only two children had to share their pony. Go Sugar! After the games we took care of all the horses and Fred & all the helpers were ready to go with the food table. All the kids were hungry and attacked the food. (party continues around the food and conversation)
Now, the sun is setting and here comes Fred with his GAS CAN!
So I start gathering up people as fast as I can, cause the Gas Man don't wait. Flying up the hill in the garden tractor full of kids in the back, screaming and holding on for dear life....This time we'll remember the smores. Nope, not a chance, Loretta brought the Smores again! Thanks Loretta!
So then do you want to know what happened?
The fire idled slowly, not wanting to catch hold.............But Then! It Caught! Explosion!
Then within a half an hour the police, fire and ambulance showed up at our door! Boy, did we feel bad about spoiling their holiday!
You Go Guys! We appreciate all your hard work helping people!
